Rosanna Castellana (Principal)
RAD: RTS, Glenn Wood Tap Examiner, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
Rosanna was born in Queensland and commenced classes from the age of 3 studying in many facets of dance including ballet, tap, jazz, slow modern, contemporary, and character. Her passion for teaching began at an early age and in 1989, she established Promenade Dance Studio. Many of her students have gone on to professional dance careers including artists in the Australian Ballet, Queensland Ballet, Paris Opera Ballet, John Cranko School – Stuttgart, Royal Ballet School – White Lodge, English National Ballet School, Dutch National Ballet Academy and the commercial dance industry. Former students have also continued their dance education to qualify as dance teachers and examiners. Rosanna is a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance having completed her Teachers Certificate with Distinction. She is also an examiner for Glenn Wood Tap. With over 30 years of experience, Rosanna is often invited to conduct tap workshops and adjudicate eisteddfods and bursaries around the country.
ARAD, BFA (Dance), Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Merge Dance Theatre – Artistic Director
After graduating from the Queensland Dance School of Excellence, Deanna went on to complete a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in Dance at QUT. During this time she was selected to perform at the Tari Dance Festival in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and work with leading artists such as Natalie Weir (Expressions Dance Company Artistic Director), Anton (Guest Dancer Adelaide Dance Theatre) and Harold Collins (1979 -1997 Artistic Director Queensland Ballet.) On completion of this course she went on to perform with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines where during this time she was assigned the role of Dance Captain. Deanna is the Artistic Director of Merge Dance Theatre and has produced many professional shows which have attracted much attention with her 2018 show receiving an Australian Dance Award nomination. Deanna has numerous years of experience teaching and choreographing for pre-professional students with many of her pieces being performed overseas in various competitions.

Daniella is a fully qualified and registered teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). She is also an RAD Examiner and has travelled extensively across Australia and internationally, examining ballet students at all levels. Daniella holds a Bachelor of Creative Industries (Dance) from QUT where she studied Ballet and Contemporary Dance. Her broad and comprehensive dance training has enabled her to teach across many genres including Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical and Tap. Daniella now specialises in RAD Ballet from Pre-Primary to Advanced 2, and open ballet technique classes. She also coordinates and teaches into our Ballet Development Program. Daniella is passionate about the dance education of young people, and thoroughly enjoys working on an individual level with students to refine technique, enhance artistry and improve confidence.
GWT Examiner, Acrobatic Arts (AACI) Certified
Alexandria commenced dancing at an early age studying and completing exams in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Musical Theatre and Acrobatics. Her passion lies in Tap and she is a qualified teacher and examiner for the Glenn Wood Tap syllabus (GWT). She is also a qualified Acrobatics teacher with Acrobatic Arts. In 2008 she travelled to America to perform at Disneyland, California. Alexandria has been teaching for over 10years in all facets of dance and loves teaching for our Junior School!
Jayne is a Registered Teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance with over 30 years teaching experience. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Dance), University of Adelaide and a Post Graduate Degree of Dance (Laban Centre London). Jayne is also a school teacher with an Early Childhood and Senior Years Graduate Diploma Education (QUT). She has a passion for teaching, and current and emerging educational practises and philosophies.

Bronwyn started her ballet career in New York City, with acceptance into intensive coaching courses with New York City Ballet and was taught by renown Balanchine dancers such as Daniel Ulbricht, Ashley Bouder and Wendy Whelan. She continued her dance training in Australia by graduating at Queensland Dance School of Excellence by age 15. Bronwyn completed her full-time Advanced Diploma of Dance at The National Theatre Ballet in 2014 under the direction of Beverly Jane Fry. Bronwyn’s performance repertoire includes The Nutcracker, Cinderella, La Sylphide, Don Quixote, Giselle, Swan Lake, Le Corsaire, Coppelia, as well as many contemporary works. Throughout her full-time and professional experience, she has enjoyed sharing her knowledge of dance to students of all ages. Bronwyn has obtained her Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) to continue her interest in a career path of exploring the benefits of dance in children through research and clinical practice. Bronwyn is currently studying at Griffith University to obtain her Clinical Psychology PhD. Her thesis research focuses on an innovative dance and mindfulness program as a classroom-based intervention to promote executive function development in children from disadvantaged backgrounds and clinical groups (ASD, FASD).
Since age three Katie trained in jazz, tap, ballet, contemporary, hip hop, acrobatics and contortion alongside vocal, piano and violin before commencing a Bachelor of Arts (Music Education) in 2014 (WAAPA). During this time she ventured to New York to study for three months at the New York Film Academy and Broadway Dance Company. Following her completion of these studies, Katie commenced a Bachelor of Musical Theatre at Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University where she performed the roles of Helene in Sweet Charity, Tracy in The Life, Featured Vocalist in Con2TheCabaret, and Anybody’s in West Side Story, making multiple guest vocal and dance appearances in a variety of shows and concerts at QPAC. A dance and singing teacher for over a decade, Katie is enthusiastic, bubbly, and loves exploring every facet of the performing arts and passing on her love and passion for music and dance to the next generation of upcoming performers no matter their age. She is currently completing her Masters of Music majoring in Vocal Pedagogy at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music.
Michael is originally from Sydney and trained in the performing arts for many years. He graduated from Newtown High School for the Performing Arts and furthered his studies with a Certificate IV in Performing Arts at Brent Street. Michael went on to perform in the films Moulin Rouge and Bootmen as a featured dancer, and toured around Australia in the smash hit musical Shout! He has also performed in various stage shows and film clips in Australia and around the world, working with people such as Hugh Jackman, David Campbell, Elle Macpherson, John Farnham, Vanessa Amorosi, Marcia Hines, John Paul Young and Kylie Minogue. As well as singing and dancing, Michael also has appeared as guest roles in a number of TV shows, feature films and TV commercials. He is currently one of Queensland’s most in demand teachers and choreographers. He has choreographed numerous corporate shows, open-air concerts, and functions and, in 2013, he choreographed a piece for Dancing with the Stars. Michael has over 10 years teaching experience working at numerous dance schools, full-time performing arts schools, conventions and workshops. Chances are, if you are a dancer, you have done his classes. Michael holds a Certificate IV in Performing Arts and Workplace Training and Assessment.
Summer was born in Queensland and holds extensive knowledge for the dance industry as a performer, choreographer technique teacher and adjudicator, with a versatile skill set in all genres of dance and performance. Summer is a highly respected teacher throughout QLD and enjoys free-lancing interstate to choreograph and mentor. In recent years Summer has enjoyed developing her knowledge and gaining qualifications within the VET industry. She works alongside of several RTO’s training and assessing dancers who are studying various dance related subjects within Certificate qualifications, Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas.
Harley received her formal ballet training at the Houston Ballet Ben Stevenson Academy on a full scholarship, before joining the Houston Ballet II in 2012. Her performance highlights during this time include the Waltz Girl in George Balanchine’s Serenade, as well as Stanton Welch’s The Rite of Spring world premiere with the Houston Ballet. Harley returned to Australia in 2014 where she danced with the Queensland Ballet. During her time there, she toured to London with the company and was recognised as a “Dancer to Watch” in Dance Australia Magazine’s critics’ choice awards in 2017. Harley was a part of the Australian Ballet’s Storytime Ballet Production, before she joined RWS Entertainment Group New York City, to dance for Holland America Line for 2 years. Harley moved back to Brisbane at the start of 2020 and is currently studying a Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy.
Jizelle began dancing at the age of 3 in genres Jazz, Ballet and Tap on the Gold Coast. After graduating from school she attended full-time training at Brent Street in Sydney and completed a Diploma of Musical Theatre. Her full-time training included dance styles of Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre and Ballet as well as singing and acting. She has continued her involvement within performing arts since and is passionate about sharing it with others.

Bianca commenced dance from an early age and trained in all facets of dance, providing her with an extensive foundation for a teaching career. Bianca has been teaching for over 15 years and specialises in teaching our younger students in the Junior School. As well as heading up our Creative Dance Program, Bianca also teaches Ballet, Tap, Musical Theatre, Junior Jazz, Fitball and Performance classes. She is a fully qualified and registered teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), a qualified teacher and Examiner of Glenn Wood Tap (GWT) and holds a Diploma of Health Science and Certificate IV in Remedial Massage from ACNM.
Brisbane-born Daniel Gaudiello strapped on his first pair of dancing shoes at the age of six at the Johnny Young Talent School, then at Promenade Dance Studio. Later he completed the Queensland Dance School of Excellence and Queensland Ballet professional year before being accepted into The Australian Ballet School, where he participated as an exchange student with The National Ballet School of Canada and the School of American Ballet. Daniel joined The Australian Ballet in 2004 and in early 2007, on scholarship, participated in classes with some of the world’s finest ballet companies like The Royal Ballet, Het National in Amsterdam, Munich and Paris Opera. Daniel made his choreographic debut with a piece called ‘Notte in Bianco’ for the Australian Ballet in 2009, then South of Eden and Tristan and Isolde. Daniel was promoted to principal artist in 2010.
Daniel’s principal roles with The Australian Ballet include both Des Grieux and Lescaut in Kenneth MacMillan’s Manon, Basilio in Rudolf Nureyev’s production of Don Quixote (2010), Petrouchka in Petrouchka (2009), the Prince in Alexei Ratmansky’s Cinderella, James in La Sylphide (2013), Siegfried in Stephen Baynes’ Swan Lake (2012), Franz in Peggy van Praagh’s Coppélia (2010), Romeo and Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet (2013), Don Jose in Carmen (2017) and works by Christopher Wheeldon, Wayne Macgregor, William Forsythe, Nacho Duato and Jiří Kylián. As a guest artist he has appeared with Houston Ballet, Singapore Dance Theatre, New Zealand Ballet, Queensland Ballet, West Australian Ballet and English National Ballet. He was the recipient of the 2011 Australian Dance Award for outstanding performance by a male dancer in Coppélia, a Green Room Award for Don Quixote, Telstra Ballet Dancer of the year and has been nominated for three Helpmann Awards.

Kate studied dance with Margaret Dixon in Brisbane before undertaking full-time studies with Prudence Bowen in Sydney and then with Anna Northcote, Maria Fay and Errol Addison in London. She is a former member of the Heidelberg Ballet Ensemble undertaking principal ballet roles as part of the dance-in-education tours. Kate is a qualified and highly experienced Royal Academy of Dance teacher specialising in Vocational Graded syllabus classes and open classical classes. She has been on staff at Queensland Dance School of Excellence for over 10 years and, since 2004, has been a tutor for the Royal Academy of Dance Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies (CBTS).
Queensland Ballet from 1994 to 2005, following completion of her Bachelor of Arts (Dance) from Queensland University of Technology, and her first professional engagement with NAPAC Dance Company in Durban, South Africa. While at QUT she won the QUT Gold Medal for academic excellence and received a scholarship to attend the Royal Danish Ballet’s Bournonville Summer Academy in Copenhagen. Nicole has also completed a Master of Arts (Research) and a Graduate Diploma of Education (Middle Years) from Queensland University of Technology. Nicole is a fully qualified and registered Information RAD and CSTD regarding teacher, the and tutors choreographs, teaches and coaches for many dance schools across South East Queensland. She also takes pleasure in offering Queensland Ballet educational workshops and talks to various community groups throughout the state.

Timothy Hill is a freelance director of musical theatre, plays, cabaret, dance, and film. In 2015, he completed a Master of Fine Arts Directing at NIDA. Adrian is an Exercise & Movement Scientist and Pilates Reformer Instructor. Adrian’s passions and expertise lie in the areas of strength, conditioning, and flexibility for; dance and sport performance, general health and well-being, injury prevention, and improving movement and posture.
Hayley has been performing professionally in the entertainment industry for over 12 years, with a career that has seen her conquer a variety of stages in Australia and overseas.
Hayley has danced for Countdown tours 1 and 2, performed in theatres throughout Australia and Asia in musicals- Guys and Dolls, Boy from Oz, The Boyfriend, Follies, Oh! What a night and a lead role in the Broadway musical A Chorus line. She is also a well-known vocalist for cover bands and artists around Melbourne, Brisbane and Australia.
Hayley has her Diploma in Performing Arts, Yoga teaching training level 1 and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Tomomi was born in Kobe, Japan and started ballet at the age of six in her hometown.
As she grew up, she participated in various professional Ballet performances and competitions in which she received many awards.
Tomomi joined the National Ballet of Japan; New National Theatre in Tokyo, and danced in many well recognised Ballets such as Sleeping beauty, Swan lake, The Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Cinderella, Giselle, La Bayadere, Romeo and Juliet, Theme and Variation, Raymonda, La Sylphide, Petrushka.
Before moving to Australia with her family, Tomomi taught Ballet to students in Japan, Aichi ranging from juniors to adults.
Natascia was born on the east coast of Italy and commenced training in classical ballet from an early age at Antonella Bartolacci Dance Academy. She relocated to Australia in 1994 and continued her dance training at McDonald College, Sydney and Alegria Dance Studio.
In 2003 she became a registered RAD teacher and moved to Brisbane to begin teaching. Natascia has been worked at Brisbane Dance Centre and ADPI teaching RAD syllabus from Pre-Primary – Advanced 2. She has also taught students solo and group eisteddfod routines and elite performance choreography.
Chris has been a mover all his life, beginning in competitive gymnastics at 9 and continuing until 22. He successfully competed at national levels representing QLD for a number of years before then moving into partner and hand to hand acrobatics. At the same time Chris completed a Bachelor degree in exercise physiology. Dance classes then came next in Chris’ physical theatre development.
His dance styles also included Jazz, Ballet, hip hop and Contemporary.
