Junior School
Promenade Dance Studio offers unique and creative dance programs specifically designed for ages 2-7 years old. With an emphasis on creativity and fun, we use an imaginative and playful approach in each class to encourage a love of movement and dance.
The teaching staff ensure that the individuality and creative potential of each student is embraced and nurtured. Classes at this level are fun and creative, however fundamental skills such as balance, coordination and musicality are developed.
At Pre-Primary level, students can choose from
an exciting program of classes including Ballet, Jazz,
Tap, Musical Theatre, Acrobatics as well as participate in our Performance Team!
Tiny Tots
Cost: $187* per term
Duration: 30 minutes
Class Times: Tues 10.00am, Wed 9.00am, Thurs 10.00am, Sat 8.30am
Our Tiny Tots class is a fun and creative introduction to movement and dance. Using a different storybook each week, the class is inspired around the contents and characters of the book, encouraging creativity, imagination and enjoyment. The children are encouraged to use their imagination with the use of instruments, props and dress ups for characters. Classes are filled with music, singing and dance.
Prep Tap
Cost: $209* per term
OR combined with Prep Dance
$330* per term
Duration: 30 minutes
Class Times: Saturday 10.15am
A fun and energetic addition to our Prep Dance program! Covering the very basics of tap dance, students will learn the skills of balance, musicality, coordination and most importantly lots of fun and interesting sounds with their tap shoes!
Creative Movement
Cost: $209* per term
Duration: 45 minutes
Class Times: Tues 9.00am or 10.40am, Weds 9.45am, Thurs 9.00am or 10.40am, Sat 8.30am
Creative Movement is a playful approach to introducing the very basics of dance. Through the use of movement, song, mime and props, children are taught many skills such as coordination, motor skills, musicality, rhythm, concentration and following instruction.
Each week, children are taken on an adventure – your child will never guess where we’re going next! There is much fun to be had when you’re performing at the circus, visiting fairyland or discovering outer space. Our themed classes provide you with the opportunity to explore and develop their imagination.
Prep Dance
Cost: $209* per term

The Prep Dance class is a more structured class for little ones, offering a basic introduction to ballet technique, combined with up tempo jazz and singing. A musical and energetic experience, this class combines the three facets of performance to keep students entertained, engaged and learning.

Join our 6 & under Eisteddfod Team! Participation or our Pre-Primary and Primary students is free of charge. Only students learning both ballet and jazz are eligible. Being a part of our Eisteddfod Team involves commitment to weekly eisteddfod classes during Terms 1 and 2 only.
Singing is also included! This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to be part of a team and gain confidence through live performance on “the big stage!”

Girls
• Hair in any style but tied back neatly off face, no jewellery – sleepers & studs acceptable.
• Pink studio leotard with skirt OR your own special fairy/princess outfit.
• Eventually to have pink ballet shoes with elastic and pink ballet socks (no jiffies please).
Boys
• Stretch bike shorts and a fitted t-shirt or singlet OR your own favourite superhero outfit.
• Eventually to have black or white ballet shoes with elastic and short white socks.
Prep Dance
Girls
• Hair in a ballet bun or classical style, no jewellery – sleepers & studs acceptable.
• Pink studio leotard with skirt.
• Pink ballet shoes with elastic and pink ballet socks (no jiffies please).

• Navy stretch bike shorts and white fitted t-shirt or singlet.
• White ballet shoes with elastic and short white socks.
Studio dancewear, including leotards and skirts are available to purchase in our Studio Dance Shop.
Performance Opportunities
Junior School Concert – held annually in November at The Thomas Dixon Centre. A great opportunity for kids who love to perform! Dazzling costumes and lots of fun to be had, while developing confidence through live performance on ‘the big stage!’ Participation is optional.
